I recently stayed at Mad Cat Hostel in Osaka for a few nights. The owner, Rieko, has done an incredible job creating a clean and comfortable space. The custom-built beds were super cozy and the kitchen and social areas were great. The staff, especially Yoshi, were friendly and made me feel right at home. The bar had a fun atmosphere and even offered a free drink. Mad Cat Hostel was one of the best hostels I've stayed at while traveling. Highly recommend!

Reiko, Eric, and Yoshi were incredibly welcoming and kind. the hostel had such a homey vibe, and it was a great place to meet new people. I really appreciated the free drink at the bar every night, and the recommendations they provided for places to visit and eat were extremely helpful. I also loved that the owners, Rieko and Toshi, lived at the hostel and took such great care of it. the attention to detail in the cute decor was evident, and everything was spotlessly clean. I've never found such great value for money in a hostel before, and the cats were an adorable bonus. Mad Cat was definitely a highlight of my trip!
All was good👌.

I had a wonderful stay at Mad Cat Hostel & Bar in Osaka. The hostel feels like home from the moment you walk in, with clean and comfortable rooms, as well as clean bathrooms and showers. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and having lockers on top of the beds was very helpful. The common areas are also clean and cozy, and the small number of guests creates a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The owner and staff were amazing, treating me like family. And of course, the cats Maru and Kado were a delightful addition to my stay. I highly recommend this hostel.
Although it's not a major issue, the check-in process can be a bit inconvenient at times, as there is no staff present at all times. And as a light sleeper, I would have appreciated curtains or blinds on the bedroom windows to block out the morning light.

The hosts were very welcoming and sweet. the hostel was tidy and nice, offering a welcome drink. - There was a convenient 7-11 around the corner.
The women only room was quite small for 4 people, not much space for luggage. The hostel is located in a quiet neighborhood, so public transport is needed to reach the center.

Mind-blowing hospitality, super friendly owners with English speaking skills, fantastic facilities, jaw-dropping cleanliness, and the bonus of adorable resident cats. The staff actively helped us find rugby tickets and even messaged us with potential leads. The welcoming drink every night at the bar was a great way to mingle with fellow travelers. Additionally, the cozy living room and bike rental added to the overall amazing experience. Highly recommended! No pets allowed, no smoking on site, and wi-fi, shared kitchen, bar/lounge area, leisure/TV room.

My travel purpose was to explore Osaka for a couple of days, and Mad Cat Hostel was the perfect choice. The friendly hostel is located in an authentic neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's also a bar where locals gather to watch football and hang out, providing a unique opportunity to chill with the locals. The hosts, along with their well-mannered cats, were lovely and made me feel at home. The hostel itself is cozy and offers quiet rooms, comfy beds with fluffy duvets, and lockers for valuables. Plus, reaching it with public transport is easy, especially from Kansai Airport.
Totally recommend this hotel.
